TURN ON THE LIGHT

This darkness couldn’t get darker than this. The weird creature stretched its thin long hand towards his forehead. Sweat had already drenched his bed, and by now he was breathing heavily. He couldn’t believe that he would ever get this scared, and then the creature spoke with a loud voice, “you are mine, mine, mine”. Suddenly there was utter darkness, the music of sorrow was endless, somewhere crying for water, others were beaten to a point of death but of course there was no death here.

In a minute his whole life flashed before his eye, He always thought that everything would be alright if he kept on going to church, but the preacher in his church kept telling them that without Jesus Christ they won’t be able to make it to heaven. Tunji thought to himself well if Jesus Christ is my only passport let me cling to him, so I can enjoy the luxury of Heaven when I die. Little did he know that you can’t deceive God. Anytime the Holy Spirit tried to convict he hardened his heart.

Little did he know that death would come knocking and he would find himself in the lake of fire. He felt something very cold on his face, in fear he opened his eye and of course it was his troublesome elder sister again (what a relieve it was a dream), but he didn’t mind this time around. He gave her a big hug and breezed out of the room, leaving her with a puzzled look on her face. That day Tunji had a long day talking with the Holy Spirit. With the Holy Spirit pointing out this hidden secrets and flaws, the Holy Spirit reminded him that the word of God was his guide in this dark word.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my part (Psalms 119:105)

This might be vague to you, but I love this school of thought from great ministers of God. This is their thought ‘”if am right that there is heaven and hell, then I have nothing to lose. If am not then I still have nothing to lose.”  After letting Christ in, turn on the light

The entrance of thy word giveth light… (Psalms 119: 130)

For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people:

but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee (Isaiah 60:10).

To Tunji it was a dream, but to others this was real and they never had the time to return and turn on the light by accepting Christ as their personal Lord and savior and getting to know is word. Christ is coming soon TURN ON THE LIGHT!

THE CROSS AND THE POWER

The preaching of the cross to the world is foolishness, but to us that believe it is the power of God (1cor 1; 18). I just came to the consciousness of what the death and resurrection of Christ truly means. I came to the realization that I had been religious concerning this subject matter. This is a wakeup call that everything concerning your life has been finished on the cross.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, it is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost (John 19: 30)

And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from top to bottom (Matthew 15: 37-38)

The Greek word for “it is finished” is tel-eh’-o which means to end, complete, execute, discharge a debt, make an end, expire, fill up, finish, go over, pay, perform. Christ came to put an end to all your struggles, to give an expiry date to that challenge and to bring you into close fellowship and intimacy with the father.

“There is an expiry date attached to every challenge that you may be passing through, hold on!”

Christ was under no obligation to die, in fact he clearly stated that no one can take his life except he lays it down (John 10: 18). He saw the Glory ahead. There is a Glory ahead for you if you would just see the finished work of Christ. The blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary, bought you over from slavery, diseases, poverty, oppression, depression and anything contrary to Christ. You have full access to the throne of the father through Jesus Christ, enough of condemnation!!!

[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit (Romans 8: 1).

Remember there is power in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christ has finished everything concerning us, walk in this consciousness and live a triumphant life.

The Mediator

Her hair was scattered, her nails were chipped, tears had already soiled her then beautiful face, leaving it pale and with traces of dripping mascara,  she walked almost as if she were running into the court, as she was about to enter through the gate, a huge hand suddenly descended on her shoulder’s. This was the conversation between her and the Man at the gate.

MAN AT THE GATE; ma’am what can we do for you?

SADE; I am to appear before the Judge today.

MAN AT THE GATE; ma’am you have to drop your entire excess load.

SADE; but I have to appeal my case here today

MAN AT THE GATE; we always enter through his gate with thanksgiving, and into his court with praise (Psalms 100: 4)

SADE; my whole life is coming to an end and you refuse me entry.

MAN AT THE GATE; just cast all your cares and burdens ma’am and you won’t have to go through this alone (1Peter5: 7).

SADE; why do I have to pass through you?

MAN AT THE GATE; because I am the way, the truth and the life (John 14; 6).

SADE; I don’t have a lawyer to defend my case.

MAN AT THE GATE; you have a high priest that is continually interceding for you and pleading your case (Hebrews 4: 13-14, 1John 2: 1-2). I know all that you are passing through (Hebrew 4: 15).

MAN AT THE GATE; you have come to the court of a Faithful, Righteous and Just Judge (Rev 19: 11, Proverbs 75: 2, Proverbs 31: 4)

MAN AT THE GATE; make your petitions known unto Him.

Sade followed the word and leading of the Man at the gate and everything turned around for her, every of her petitions were answered as she was able to present her case boldly (1 John 5:15, Hebrews 4: 16). This story is an illustration of what God is saying to us via the scripture. Today that Man at the Gate is Jesus (Rev 3:20), our most loyal friend and help in the time of need. He wants you to surrender every area of your live to him (spiritual, financial, academical, emotional, social…) Jesus Christ is the reason for our celebration. He came to give us peace not as the world would give us (John 14: 27). I see God’s peace surrounding all areas of your life as you surrender all to him in prayers. Halleluyah!
